The Booby trout flies are best fished with a sinking line and a short leader, searching just above the bottom where good fish often lay up. Stop the retrieve and the Booby fly lifts in the water and starting again makes the fly dive, they find it difficult to resist and often take when the fly is on the hang.

This fly will, of course, also produce excellent results at all waters, especially still waters.
