The grey drake trout fly is a superb mayfly and has been around for a long time,fish late spring. The Grey Drake is a female version, the green drake being the male fly. Drake Mayfly are designed to float on the surface of the water. Using a small amount of floatant on the grey drake can be a help, keeping the fly buoyant, rub the floatant into the hackle on the drake fly.
